An Unexpected Surprise

Chris, Elizabeth and I set out for a church service yesterday morning, only to discover that first Sunday services are in private homes (small groups). Not knowing the congregation, we couldn’t very well invite ourselves, so we ventured down toward town and wandered along the beautiful river pathway. Chris wanted to get some photos of an ancient colonnade walkway from across the way. When we finally figured out the path that would take us there, there were two security chaps at the top of the steps that led to the entrance, as well as another, a young woman, at the bottom. We got to visiting with her for a spell, and she informed us that this was the first time the colonnade had been opened to the public in 40 years. And it was only going to be open for that day! We were so very grateful to have been in this place, for ‘such a time as this’, to experience our memorable walk through history 💕🙏.

A remnant of an ancient wall from long ago.

It was fun to imagine the folks who walked these very paths so many years ago! We came across one woman dressed in a manner that may have been similar to that ‘yesteryear’, and she graciously allowed a photo to be taken.

I will add in some beautiful shots of the river that runs through Bath. It is just all so overwhelmingly lovely!
