Solitude

Slipped off for a bit. We saw 197 patients yesterday. Sadly, many had to be turned away, as we simply ran out of time… The rule of thumb is that we are not out after dark. Sometimes, it cannot be helped.

At the end of a long day, all we want to do is rest. This is Dr. Solomon, taking time to recharge and reflect on our way home. The humility and spirit of these Uganda doctors is inspiring. You can see their heart each day as they work with the patients who come through the clinic. So many things can never be changed, but what we can offer is love, hope, and ‘living water’. We have a powerful ministry team, and the people here are so receptive! It is truly a joy to watch miracles happen.

An older lady approached me yesterday afternoon. She kept speaking to me in Ugandan, and it was evident by her smile that it was something good. She touched, patted and squeezed my hands as she spoke, and I wish I could’ve understood her, but I just didn’t have a translator to help with that. So special πŸ’•.

And the little children kneel down when they speak to us. I asked somebody what that was about, and they said it’s a sign of respect. Still feels peculiar, that!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Off to work now! πŸ’•
