Today marks the start of a three day Jewish Holiday, so Michael, tour guide, wanted to make sure we saw the sites that may be closed. A list in order of the places we visited, drove by, and saw-along-the-way…
We started at another Decapolis (one of the ten Greek capital cities) Bet She’an. This was where King Saul and his sons were killed, and where the Philistines hung their bodies on the wall. It is also where the great historian rabbit-trailers speculate the prodigal son went to squander his inheritance. It is the largest ’city’ ruin we’ve been to this far, and was stunning to see! We then drove along the West Bank, through the Jordan River Valley, along the border of Jordan (which warranted a security check point before they allowed us passage into Jerusalem😬) past Samaria (barren desert😱), and near Hebron and Judea. It’s so astonishing and touching to see road signs of these places we’ve only read about in scriptures!
OH! But first we started with baptisms in the Jordan River! As I was one who chose not to start my day wet and soggy, I was the photographer😂.

And…as had been the custom, the cats followed along💕😊.

This young man was enthralled to see people from the US. He asked if we like Israel. I assured him we LOVE Israel 💕.
