After a leisurely stroll through IKEA Warsaw, we were feeling quite peckish. Dean suggested Old Town, but I do believe I am pierogied out just now, so we choose a Thai restaurant that just happened to be on the way to our hometel π.

Pad Thai, veggie spring rolls, and pork stirfry π. It was a nice break from sausage and noodles, but they still had the kraut on the plate ππ. It must be a rule here…foreign food allowed WITH kraut πππ.

And I’ve decided IKEA needs to sell charms so I can collect them all and have an ‘IKEA around the world’ bracelet! π
And you know you’re in a POLAND IKEA when the kitchenware displays have pierogies on them! And croissants. AND gingerbread cookies!

We made our way back ON the bus πππ to drop our things off and lighten our load. Then off to take some photos of the ‘hood before the sun disappeared at 3:51 πππ.

Zabka is the local, neighborhood quick stop…just essentials but nothing more.

One thing that is so evident of the communist regime here in Poland are the soviet era apartment blocks. They all look the same, and they (the individual apartments) are very compact (aka…small) in size.

Our hometel is in this one, second floor, although here that is considered first floor, as ground floor is considered zero.
And a memorial to a war, but there are no markers in English. Only Polish, so I know not what things are. π

I am thinking it has to do with the Warsaw uprising, but I cannot be sure.
And from Old Town…

I got to wondering whose job it is to take all of these decorations down after Christmas. πππ SO glad it’s not me!
