Riding in Between

Kelly and I scored our own, private seats between coaches on the leg from Brussels and Amsterdam as there was no space for our luggage!πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Today

Because it’s our last evening together, and because we’ve had such an amazing day seeing the countryside, I’m going to share some pictures, and then share more on my 4 1/2 hour train ride up to Amsterdam tomorrow. I don’t want to miss one single moment with these precious ladies we’ve been with for the past three days.

LOO REVIEW!

Yes! It’s time for another… LOO review!

First one is for wee ‘loo patrons, and with a simple flick of the wrist, a seat for the larger version πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘!

Palladian Bridge

One of only five left in the world, and it just happens to be in Bath! Nestled in what is now a park, it was amazing and wonderful to see!

An Unexpected Surprise

Chris, Elizabeth and I set out for a church service yesterday morning, only to discover that first Sunday services are in private homes (small groups). Not knowing the congregation, we couldn’t very well invite ourselves, so we ventured down toward town and wandered along the beautiful river pathway. Chris wanted to get some photos of an ancient colonnade walkway from across the way. When we finally figured out the path that would take us there, there were two security chaps at the top of the steps that led to the entrance, as well as another, a young woman, at the bottom. We got to visiting with her for a spell, and she informed us that this was the first time the colonnade had been opened to the public in 40 years. And it was only going to be open for that day! We were so very grateful to have been in this place, for ‘such a time as this’, to experience our memorable walk through history πŸ’•πŸ™.

A remnant of an ancient wall from long ago.

It was fun to imagine the folks who walked these very paths so many years ago! We came across one woman dressed in a manner that may have been similar to that ‘yesteryear’, and she graciously allowed a photo to be taken.

I will add in some beautiful shots of the river that runs through Bath. It is just all so overwhelmingly lovely!

Tea in the Garden

…with Elizabeth πŸ’•.

Elizabeth is from Ireland, the daughter of Kelly’s sister, Chris. Chris married an Irish man back in the day, and they made Ireland their home. She is a delightful young ladyπŸ€—, and I am so glad she is here with us!

And, THE GARDENπŸ˜†!

Our own, little oasis in the heart of Bath.

Bath πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

How lovely it has been to be in Bath for the past two days! A small, quaint town we are able to walk pretty much everywhere to. It is nice to have a break from buses and trains and the hustle and bustle of London. This city is as ancient as it is beautiful, and the same holds true for ‘around every corner’…

Having tea with Elizabeth so I’ll stop for now πŸ’•.

An Easy Return Home

…but we de-boarded the YYZ ( Toronto)-MSP flight right next to this gate… Tempting.  Very tempting!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ But I proceeded on to my Missoula...
