We will leave for the far, northeaster corner of the Kingdom of Cambodia this morning. Thinking of that now, I am unsure if we will have a solid wifi connection, if any at all. So, if I drop off for a time, that would be the reason why💕.
We were each assigned our job detail at our group meeting last night. I will be doing labs. And, of course, we all will float to where we are needed throughout the day. We will have two MD’s. That will be so helpful. In Jamaica we just had one, and the demands on him were great. Along with the FDI MD will be Dr. Lena, who oversees the clinic attached to the children’s home in Phnom Penh. We were able to meet him yesterday. A very kind and gracious man.
Fair warning…prepare thyselves for another toilet discourse😂😂. I was told yesterday they are pretty primitive! When I gleefully exclaimed, “Wonderful! Another blog post!”, I saw some strange but inquisitive glances🤣. These teammates don’t share my SecondChapterActs blog history😂
I received a photo and a sweet hello from the guys yesterday. With the money Taai has been earning driving for Prichard, he has been able to get caught up on his tuk-tuk rental dues, and get his cell phone back. He had placed it as collateral for a loan when business was slow. Few tourists travel here during the monsoon season, which is now, and that makes living and eating very difficult for those who rely on tourist dollars. Taai is currently paying $5 per day to rent his tuk-tuk, so that would drain what little resources he earns. I’ll track down the photo they sent and share it, along with some randoms 👌
