Sunshine on My Shoulders

I visited a lovely church just down the road from my little cottage this morning. Afterwards, I was visiting with the pastor for a time. He made the comment that the sun usually always shines here where I am. He said if there is snow, it’s up high in the mountains, but he assured me that they typically have mild winters on this side of the western slope! I haven’t seen many clouds in the sky since I arrived a week ago, and the days have been in the mid 40s, which feels especially warm when the sun is shining. If this is my winter for the next 13 weeks, I am going to be a happy camper! 😂 To make the most of this beautiful day, I took Jax to a hiking spot about three miles from home. The trail wound around several hills, but I was able to find one that went fairly straight up, because I knew I’d have a stellar view of the Rocky Mountain range! I wish my pictures would do them justice.

The hike was pretty easy, but the trek uphill warmed the dog apparently😂😂…

And then I found THIS!

When I said Colorado is a high desert environment, I never expected to find cacti!🤣

I’m not sure how well this shows itself, but I found it rather interesting🤔.

Perhaps a tiny home, Colorado style?🤔

And just some of my favorite type of fencing. It got me wondering if Colorado was settled before Montana, and I’m thinking the answer is yes. That can be my homework for tonight, since I still have a couple of hours left before bedtime. Tomorrow is my first day soloing it with some of my new patients. I can’t wait to meet them! Stay tuned for more of this great adventure 💕🤗💕!
