During the past few days of training with a new company and in an unfamiliar place, I’ve come to realize the incredible value that signing on with disaster relief through Foursquare Missions has gained me! Walking into a new situation such as this, in the past, would have been rather nerve-wracking for me…the new faces, the new personalities to become adjusted to, and the uncertainties of a new routine. But I can honestly say that during this transition into travel nursing, it has been nothing but excitement and anticipation with what was and is to come. I know without a doubt that this is a direct result of having gone into Jamaica with an unfamiliar team, and unknown routine, and then again into Cambodia, under the same circumstances. Being able to adjust and adapt in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable environment with total strangers has given me an immeasurable confidence. A confidence that only comes in knowing Who goes with me. Words cannot express my gratitude for this gift. This blessing. And in pondering that, I can see how the Lord is equipping me for the future, in my intent to try to lead, guide and council people making end-of-life decisions. This journey keeps getting better and better. Steven Curtis Chapman had a long ago hit, ‘The Great Adventure’. Life with the Lord truly is a great adventure when you fully surrender and allow Him to lead you!
