Bath Splendor
We just arrived in Bath to our lovely, ancient, three story flat. And now we are in the garden sipping wineπ. A perfect to our last week in Europe!
Random Thoughts from Paddington Station
…because our first train was cancelled, and we were at the wrong platform for our second option, so now we are waiting our third. Fortunately, they are only 30 minutes apart!
A leprechaun in Hammersmith!
Apparently IKEA is a popular place here too! I love these UK folks π!
Our station…and the story behind Paddington Bear ☺️.
And just some pretty from yesterday!

Good-Bye Day
Three of our group of six left on an Uber taxi this morning to make it to Heathrow to begin their journey home. Kelly and I are relaxing, doing some tidying up, and just waiting to head to St. Pancras Station to drop our luggage for a day of fun and relaxation in London. We will spend one more night here in a hotel, and then take a train to Bath tomorrow to meet up with Chris, Kelly’s sister. While we’ll miss our friends, we are looking forward to a week of down time and general wandering without an itinerary. But here are some of yesterday’s memoriesπ€π.
Judy in the ‘time out’ seatππ!
Kelly2 and Erin forging Westminster Bridgeπ
Westminster Abbey I never tire of seeing this!
Our last escalator ride out of Jubilee Station. Jubilee Station is four levels below the street. During World War II, when many people had lost their homes from the bombing by Germany, they took refuge in these tube stations. Whole communities resided in these places, and it’s fascinating if you ever have time to read about it!
Abraham Lincoln!
Elizabeth Tower and Big Ben π
Memorial to those who perished in WWI and WWII
Our consensus was that could never capture the beauty that is London, and Europe in general, by simple photographs. The ancient sites are just so overwhelming to see and to be at, and we are all so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it in person, and together. What an amazing group! π

Crisps
One thing England does especially well is crisps. In the motherland, we call these potato chips. But here, they have every flavor imaginable under the sun! Chicken curry, roasted chicken and gravy, double Gouda cheddar cheese, carmelized onion and ham, Worcestershire, sticky barbecue pulled pork, and more. To make it fun, we each picked a bag we most wanted to try, and then shared samples with everybody. There was not one single flavor we did not care for, and all agree that they’d be highly addictive if we lived here!ππ
Our last day, which just happened to be a beautiful sunny day, was spent doing a walking tour of London. We rode the tube to the Green Park Station, and then enjoy a leisurely stroll through Green Park, which just happened to lead us right to Buckingham Palace in time for the changing of the guard.
A perfect start to our last day together.π
Around Every Corner
It sees every corner we turn presents us with something fascinating, inspiring, unique, and just simply beautiful. I reckon such is to be expected in a country as old as Europe. It is evident, that the past several days of walking 18,000+ steps, including many flights of stairs, has caught up with us. We are all exhausted, but in a very pleasant way. We’ve slowed down the past two days and just wandered the city and ventured off on our own in groups of two or three for safety and easy of navigating. Today we will do the walking tour of London, which will take us to the heart of the historic district, which includes Westminster Abbey, Parliament, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace for the ‘changing of the guard’. It will be a final sendoff for three of the six of us, who will start the journey home tomorrow. Kelly and I will take the train to Bath, where her sister (currently living in Ireland) will be meeting us. She has planned two days of fun for us, which will be enjoyable…letting someone else take the lead!πππππ So for now, pictures of beautiful Great Britain π.
Princess Diana Memorial Gardens, on the grounds of Kensington Palace π.
And last but not least, Judy recreates her very favorite treat…Viennese Hot Chocolate!πππππππ€π€
