Good-Bye Day

Three of our group of six left on an Uber taxi this morning to make it to Heathrow to begin their journey home. Kelly and I are relaxing, doing some tidying up, and just waiting to head to St. Pancras Station to drop our luggage for a day of fun and relaxation in London. We will spend one more night here in a hotel, and then take a train to Bath tomorrow to meet up with Chris, Kelly’s sister. While we’ll miss our friends, we are looking forward to a week of down time and general wandering without an itinerary. But here are some of yesterday’s memoriesπŸ€—πŸ’•.

Judy in the ‘time out’ seatπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚!

Kelly2 and Erin forging Westminster BridgeπŸ’•

Westminster Abbey I never tire of seeing this!

Our last escalator ride out of Jubilee Station. Jubilee Station is four levels below the street. During World War II, when many people had lost their homes from the bombing by Germany, they took refuge in these tube stations. Whole communities resided in these places, and it’s fascinating if you ever have time to read about it!

Abraham Lincoln!

Elizabeth Tower and Big Ben 😊

Memorial to those who perished in WWI and WWII

Our consensus was that could never capture the beauty that is London, and Europe in general, by simple photographs. The ancient sites are just so overwhelming to see and to be at, and we are all so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it in person, and together. What an amazing group! πŸ’•
