Good-Bye Israel

Sad to be leaving with so much yet to be seen, but happy to be going home!

Tel Aviv down below πŸ’•

And that beautiful Mediterranean Sea πŸ€—! Our flight path πŸ‘‡…

And quite a storm brewing over Montenegro!

Ben Gurion Airport

The reality of living in a persistently persecuted country…hostages still being held by terrorists…

Bomb shelters in every public place…

And a nation just wanting to be sovereign and keep their families safe from harm, persecution, and hatred.

I am so grateful to have a president who has Israel’s best interests at heart πŸ™πŸ’•

Last Days

After one, last meal with the remnant of our group, Dean and I set off to explore Old City Jerusalem one more time. It was early, cool and quiet. I don’t think I posted these pictures yet, but if I did, forgive me. The time is fleeting now that we are nearing the end of the trip.

Damascus Gate

And…more cats πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The quiet streets in Old City…

A Jewish Thing

Not sure what the wall thingy with the pitcher is for, but the small, metal bar on the doorposts are the blessing mantels. Not sure what they’re called in Hebrew, but I’ll google it later πŸ˜‚. Got Dean dropped off at the hotel, and I’m going down to ‘the square’. They’re having a street market of some sortπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Street Scenes Part II

Because it’s just so fascinating 😱!

Halvah slabs everyone was giving us samples, and it was delicious!

Even the ulta orthodox are enticed by the ‘idols’ that are cell phones πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Our first toddy stop. She’s from New York, but decided to move to Israel four years ago. Her parents joined her two years ago. They are Jewish and wanted to be in the homeland.

Lunch πŸ‘†. From a deli counter 😊.

My new Israeli BFF πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Good to have friends in distant places.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Jerusalem New City

TOTALLY different ‘vibe’, in a good way πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚! Friendly people, no pressure sales, lots of sights and pleasant smells… and plenty of places to stop for a toddy and people watch! Sights from Menahuda Market, New City πŸ˜†.

LOO REVIEW!

As I was using the ‘loo for one, final wee before leaving Missoula for the Motherland, I got to thinking of things that need improvement. F...
