The Castle

Yep.  You guessed it!  Some things just stand alone…the restaurant, the church, and the CASTLE 😱!   Visible from pretty much every point in Prague, I was grateful to be able to see it up close!  In my last exchange with my server, I asked how best to get there. He suggested a slowly winding, uphill road to get to the top, and the shorter-but-plentiful stairs route to descend. I was grateful for his advice, because it allowed for several places to stop and take pictures of the city below! As well as for a cup of EUROPEAN COCOA for dessert!

If you recall my Christmas blogs from Poland, you’ll remember that the cocoa in Europe could be eaten with a spoon if one chose to do so πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

A fun exchange in the coco stop… the gentleman behind the counter, asked if I’d like it with rum. I said, “Of course! I’ve got a long road ahead of me,” to which we both shared a laugh.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

When he handed me the cup of cocoa laced with Dominican rum, which he said was the best, I said, “Proseem!” (my pronunciation spelling for memory’s sakeπŸ˜‚). (And ‘thank you’ in Czech 😊).

“ You speak Czech!”  he exclaimed .

I smiled. “Just that one word. And two others.”

“ Where are you from?” he continued.

To avoid the ‘Yellowstone’ comment this time, I simply said ‘the United States’. I then asked, “Where are you from?”

He replied, “India.”

“Oh!” said I. “ Then NAMASTE!”

His eyes grew large and he said you speak SANSKRIT?!”πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I shook my head and said, “That’s my ONLY word! “

We both had a jolly chuckle over that, as I went on my way, rum-laced coco in hand, up the steep hill to the top where I would find the castle. πŸ’•
