Uber

If you recall, I was singing the praises of Uber just this morning.  We had scheduled our pick-up 8 am. As the rule runs, they can come five minutes before or five minutes after. At 7:19, my phone pinged.  ‘Your driver will arrive in 39 minutes’. Perfect. πŸ‘Œ Just a few minutes later, my phone pinged again. ‘Your driver has arrived’. Well this was a first! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ We were ready, kind of πŸ˜‚.  Still needed to do a walk-through, drop the keys in the mailbox, and deliver our rubbish (when in London…😏) to the bin in the basement. Nettie grabbed the rubbish while I ran out to our timely driver.

“We won’t be long,” I assured. “Just dropping the trash!”

“No worries, “ he said.

India. Love their accent! He was from Delhi but has been in the UK since 2010. Super nice, but a leftist mindset. He spoke a bit poorly of our commander-in-chief, so I was quick to change the subject. Just got him talking about India, Delhi, his family, etc,  He deposited us at Heathrow, Terminal 2, at 9:24 am πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.

And girls back at the airport!

I am happy to report our luggage looks the same as when we arrived here!  And yet again, how grateful we are to be traveling with carry-on only!πŸ˜†

Heathrow…

Longest escalators EVER 😱!
Heathrow has their own EMT team, and their own police department!

Upon going through security, I saw bags coming out of the x-ray machine and pausing in limbo for a time…some were pushed onto the ‘belt of shame’, and others down the ‘happy’ cue to their owners.  My green bag came to me with open arms.  Then my purple carry-on came out and sat there. I watched with baited breath…I had METICULOUSLY arranged EVERY. SINGLE. PIECE. in that thing. And then WHAM! Pushed onto the ‘belt of shame’ πŸ˜±πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚!  The guy on the other side (aka, TSAπŸ˜‚) said, “Looks like I’ll have to take everything out.”

😱😱😱😬😬😬😱😱😱😬😬😬😱😱😱

I KNEW I was in the clear…nothing I shouldn’t have. I simply nodded, while wondering if showing my ’Global Entry’ card would earn me any grace πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. I glanced over toward Nettie…we had been separated earlier, and her bag cruised the belt of shame tooπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Sooooo, I waited patiently (thank you Uber early bird!πŸ€—) until I was deemed not a threat, picked up my TWO bins of completely unpacked stuff, and walkED my bins across the aisle to repack everything all over again πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

“Would you like me to help?” the TSA guy offered.

“No, but thank you,” I smiled, knowing he could never fit dad’s Belgian ‘flight’ in as well as I had!πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

And now, we are loaded and ready to taxi! Next blog coming to you from the good ole’ USAπŸ’•πŸ€—.
