Or ‘Junction’ as the Western Slopers call it π€. I decided a road trip s in order, so I figured I’d pair it with a WAG day for Jax, and a scheduled service for the Passport. My alert light for maintenance came on when I was in Darby, Montana, headed to CO. Poor timing! Dean reassured me that it was just a routine maintenance alert. But now I can no longer turn off the warning and it bugs me to see it…almost like I’m a BAD MOMπππ. So here I am. But my consolation…it’s GRAND JUNCTIONπ€£ππ!

I see they, much like Montrose, enjoy their quirky, randomly placed statues. But they are fun to see. Most I can’t stop to photograph because they are downtown on street corners. I snapped this at an especially long lightπ. And it’s all you’re going to get π. I was only downtown to get a set of drumsticks, as I’ve been helping out with a local church in Montrose. I showed up last week to practice with them, and was mortified to find they didn’t have drumsticks. So I used the ends of a pair of brushes π.
I realized on the way over that the next time I came to ‘Junction’, it’d be to turn in my equipment at the main office, and then begin the trek home. That was a shock to realize. In a good way. I am ready to be home again. It will be a bittersweet last few weeks with my amazing coworkers, as well as my precious patients. π
Some random photos of a neat antique store I perused after my hasty departure from Telluride two weeks past…

It’s just been one, grand adventure here, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It’s nice to gain confidence in what I am doing, as I want to finish strong. I am HopeWest’s first experience with a travel nurse, and they are my first experience as a traveler. A win-win for us both, I hope. π€
I woke to an unexpected and unanticipated snowy morning in Telluride. The snow was falling pretty heavily, so I decided to make my way off the mountain and through the mountain pass before the skiers decided to head home. I had a slow, but easy drive down, up, and then down again to Ridgeway, where I was ready for a break, coffee, and a bite to eat.

Passing the homes, their interiors lit up be cozy, welcoming lights, made me miss being home during these beautiful, snowy days. I remember the school ‘snow days’ of yesteryear, and how much fun the kids would have, not only knowing they didn’t have to go to school, but bundling up to sled down the driveway, make snowmen, and build snow forts. When they had either 1. Exhausted themselves, or 2. Got cold, they’d tumble into the basement and shed their wet snow gear at the door before hurrying up to the warmth of the fire and the hot cocoa that awaited. If they were persistent, we’d make cookies, but they were typically tired and happy to settle in for a movie (Lion King, if the girls had their way) with freshly popped popcorn.
Winter days, like what I have today, will alway take me back to those memories when the kiddos were still little, and such a joy. They still are a great joy, but that relationship changes with growth and maturity. I hope the memories of those days are equally as wonderful for them. π€π

All grown up now, but I can still see the childhood versions in my heart. π
These are just too, pretty not to share! And a cute one in there as well…

These homes brought back a happy memory of San Francisco back in the day of the block houses in various, and vibrant colors. I imagine these homes are upwards of 2 to 4 to 6 million dollars, believe it or not. I was looking at a real estate magazine, only out of curiosity, while I was enjoying a ginger margarita in town.
And this…

I thought this was so adorable! I sent it to the girls, who have vivid memories of having to ride the tow rope up a fairly steep slope at Snowbowl, Montana. If you fell, everybody saw you, and then you had to figure out how to get back up on your skis without sliding down to the bottom again first π. For those of you who ski, this was the ‘T’ bar that would go between your legs. You had to have that perfect balance…you didn’t sit on it, and you didn’t lean too far forward otherwise you would fall face first, but you had to be perfectly balanced, so that you could be pulled to the top. Adryan’s wise invention had her grasping it in the front of her so she could comfortably lean back without fear of falling backwards.πππππππππππ. The other siblings quickly learned from her example, and started doing the same thing. π€ππ
A great day of exploring, Telluride, taking pictures to share with you, and enjoying visiting with both the locals and the visitors who are here to ski.π
I am determined to stay out until the sun is long heading west. It’s got a good start now. π

Just thought this was cuteπ.

For the brave. π
…but we de-boarded the YYZ ( Toronto)-MSP flight right next to this gate… Tempting. Very tempting!πππ But I proceeded on to my Missoula...
