Feeling more alert now๐. I ordered an electric tea kettle prior to my departure, so now I can enjoy instant coffee at my bedside๐๐. And just some more reasons to be grateful we live in the good ole’ USA…
- towel bars. I’ve yet to be in a lodging on a deployment where we’ve had a place to hang/dry wet towels.
- Clothes hangers. In our twin room with two beds we have five, plastic hangers. Too bulky to carry along, so I’ve thought of that. In Dominican Republic we pulled the mattresses off top bunks so we each had a hanging rack for our clothes. Not a single towel bar, closet OR hanger there!๐๐
- Safe drinking water. Try brushing teeth and rinsing without backwash in a bottle of water๐๐๐. EEW!
- Bedside table/lamp. When sharing a room, the last thing you’d want to do is turn on the one, overhead light while your roommate is still sleeping. So here I sit in the dark. But I’ve got coffee๐๐๐ค!
Please know that I am not complaining. There are just so many things we take for granted, and when they are absent, it is noticeable. I recall a post on Facebook…if everything you failed to give thanks for was suddenly taken away, what would you have left?
Something to think about๐
A funny photo…there are bug nets coiled above our beds. I keep thinking they are jellyfish๐๐๐
