Lunch

The past two days we stopped in ‘Druze’ villages to have lunch. Druze are Sunni Muslim Israelis, but the two places we’ve been have been owed by Christian Druze. You’ll remember her…πŸ‘‡

She is a Christian Israeli living in a Druze village😊. Lunch today was our usual…hummus, salad, yogurt sauce with zatar, along with other delectable sauces. Always served with fresh falafel, olives, pita and freshly fermented pickles πŸ˜†.

I apologize for the mess. This was after four of us tucked in!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

And, we were in the village of Masada πŸ˜ƒ.

Afterwards, we drove to Golan Heights…the dividing line between Syria and Israel. This is where Syria invaded Israel during the Yom Kippur War of 1973. You can see the former UN outpost, and Syria just beyond that.

The United States remains the only country who recognizes Golan Heights lies in Israel. There is a small village here which has claimed the name ‘Trump Village’. The United States has earned great loyalty among the Israelis, and their sentiment for our country is high. The fact that we are here, when there are no other tourists, is significant for them as well. πŸ₯²
